THE MANGRA BHATSIK SCHOOL

Currently, the U.S. Society is focusing our efforts on maintaining the Mangra Bhatsik School which opened in 2003.  There are 50 children enrolled at this school. The school, located about 60 miles east of Lhasa, teaches children in grades 3-6. Children who complete the third grade finish their primary education at the nearby Nyima Changra School.

The village of Mangra Batsig covers about 525 acres and is comprised of fifty families with a total population of about 350 people and about 1,500 animals. It is a relatively poor community where children work on farms from a very young age. This is an area of extreme need where just a little financial support helps tremendously. Please visit our How To Help page to join us in this effort.
